Pastoral Care

Reverend Steven Marcus Shearod is the founder and Senior Pastor of the Cathedral International Church, in Kennesaw Georgia. Pastor Shearod is a first-generation spiritual son of Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., the founder of the Covenant Ecumenical Fellowship & Cathedral Assemblies, in Perth Amboy, NJ. He has served Bishop Hilliard and the 7,000-member congregation in several ministry capacities over the past 35+ years. Bishop Hilliard, mentored, baptized, married, licensed, ordained, and installed him into the pastorate on October 10, 2010. Rev. Shearod has faithfully served the Lord’s church in several ministry areas of service and leadership. Our pastor has served wherever the Lord and his pastor has had need, which included serving as an usher, Vice Chairman of the Trustee Board, Sunday school teacher, basketball coach, Chairman of the Cathedral Café Restaurant, men’s ministry leader, Associate Pastor, Elder and Senior Pastor.

In October of 2017, Pastor Shearod was elevated to the office of Overseer within the Covenant Fellowship Alliance. He is aligned through the S. East jurisdiction to Bishop Daniel Richardson (Huntsville, AL), and ultimately to the alliance presider, Bishop H. Curtis Douglas (Queens, NY).

Pastor Shearod has earned a BA from Rutgers University in New Brunswick NJ, in 1985. He is a bi-vocational Pastor sharing the good news of the Gospel in the public and private sectors. Rev. Shearod is a highly credentialed and multifaceted financial professional with gifting in sales, sales management, marketing, business management, financial planning, and risk management. He has served thousands of families, hundreds of churches, and hundreds of small to large business in the areas of insurance and investments for over 30 years.

Rev. Shearod has also proudly served our country as an Infantry Officer (Major) in the US Army for 18 years. He retired as a highly decorated officer with an honorable discharge in 2007. He answered the call to the ministry in the same year.

Pastor Shearod is passionate about discipleship and building families, by developing strong husband, fathers, and sons. He often quotes the mantra that his pastor, Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr. proclaims regularly, “save a man, save a family – save a family save a community…” He loves the Lord and the people of God, and is determined to know nothing among men but, Christ and Him crucified.

The Overseer is happily married to the lovely Velicia Shearod, and they live in Kennesaw with their 3 beautiful and brilliant daughters (Tiffany, Nasia, and Nia), 5 beloved grandchildren, and his beloved sister Sharon Shearod. Amen.
